Fratton Park redevelopment, or....

Post by No Shot Sherlock »

... new ground.

Seems to have gone very quiet regarding this, or did I just imagine that the Eisners had suggested they expected to reveal their plans well before now?

Looks like the club are finally starting to make progress on the stadium upgrade and redevelopment. There’s an article in today’s snooze about a planning application lodged by the club to fill in the Milton End corners to increase capacity by removing the ‘iconic’ floodlights. Doesn’t look like the ground will be rotated or extending the Fratton end on the old Tesco land.

They did suggest that they'd have some suggestions by last summer, but there's been no official word on what the delay is, and Catlin refuses to be drawn on when any announcement will be made.

If this is genuinely about a capacity increase, just how many Pompey fans does it take to change a lightbulb?

:)
