Re: It's in our hands...
Couldn't be easier. We've got the winning habit again, so why not? Maybe if Luton slip up again.........

Its so close.
Even just 10 points from 15 would give us 90 - and that’s probably not enough!

Re: It's in our hands...
Luton have two straightforward home games (Wimbledon & Oxford); pick something up at Accrington and that should be enough without worrying about a trip to Burton. Unless they really freeze they will be promoted.
Doncaster and Peterborough can battle it out for 6th, but that doesn't really concern us.
The other four teams are in the play-offs (theoretically Charlton need one more point, but given their GD even that shouldn't matter), and just competing for second and automatic promotion. They are four good, evenly matched teams. Given the incentive, you would have to expect one of the four to win all their remaining 4/5 games. Any reasonable team can win 4/5 in a row, given good form and a bit of luck; why not us?

It's fun speculating. But we know it's a complete waste of time. Promotion will probably be decided by who gets the luckiest deflection of a shot that was going wide of the goal. It's why we love this game.

Charlton have the much easier run in. Rather annoyingly, I can see them pipping Sunderland, Barnsley and us to second spot. I can’t see winning at Burton or Sunderland.

Confidence is a huge thing, and it is something the Pompey players have in spades right now. I wouldn't put it past us winning our remaining 5 games, but being Pompey anything can happen, and probably will. What happened at Charlton away last month and what has happened since reminds me of 2017 when we lost 1-0 to Crewe, and we all know what happened that season

Re: It's in our hands...
In fairness to Lee Bowyer, he did say Charlton would end up getting promoted back at the beginning of January:

I agree with you and would also include Joey Barton in that sentiment.

As I was sort of saying.
It was in our hands at Burton!

Charlton effectively out of it after losing yesterday. Given Charlton's much inferior GD, it will only take one Barnsley win from their very straightforward last three games to be out of Charlton's reach.

Excellent win for Luton yesterday at Accrington. This effectively ends any idea that they will slip back into the chasing group. Two home wins against Wimbledon & Oxford will give them the championship, which they should manage easily enough and will be well deserved.
