Fleetwood did their part beating Sunderland 2-1 with a late winner..... Pompey did what Pompey do.....

Congrats to Luton and Barnsley, who became Posh fans for the night.

We have plenty of tired players, so maybe rest a few and just get the win Saturday. Assure ourselves of an easier play-off game, but we need to be better.

That was depressing! The mood wasn't helped by the antics of the Peterborough goalscorers and their players windup up session before the start of the second half.Pompey could easily have won the match but it was one of those days when the opposition get the breaks and chances are missed. Our lads gave everything and cannot be faulted on effort. Once again our major weakness is the lack of a quality striker. That's what the main difference is between Pompey and the two promoted teams.Law of averages suggests we will win on Saturday. And we might meet Peterborough in the play offs!

That's a good point about the forwards, I was only thinking yesterday when was the last time one of our forwards scored from open play, granted Pitman if you count him as a forward these days but he tends to play in the hole.

I'm glad we haven't relied on just one player to score goals but our forwards just aren't good enough.

My major concern if we don't go up is who we can keep hold of, and do we realise their true value if we are forced to sell from league one. The play offs are going to be huge for us.

I suspect we will lose, Clarke and Lowe.

Bids may come in for Curtis although I think his fading performances might have dampened some interest.

I could see some bids coming in for the keeper too, but he might not want to go as for the first time he is actually playing games.

I could see a bid for Close or Naylor too but they might not want to go and be a squad player elsewhere

I think Thompson will walk away for free.

The only way of fending some of this off (I think some of them will be off irrespective) is to win the play offs.

I'm not convinced any of those are necessarily the answer certainly the latter. We just have so little pace through the middle up top, I'd like to see our forwards in a 25 metre dash against each other.

The prospect of Stockley excited me even if it was just paper talk I felt he would have complimented our system well.

Irrespective of the league we are in next season we need better and different options up front.

I would love to see Pompey with a Toney or Taylor type CF, we do lack a mobile quick goalscoring CF. And when teams set up against us to play fast counter attacking football we come up short. Whereas a aforementioned CF would occupy them far more.
When you look @ Hawkins, Vaughan or Bogle then Taylor/Toney are in a different class.
