Re: Sunderland Predictions.
With both teams struggling at the end of the season, this will be an error strewn game where the best prepared will squeak a winning goal...sadly, I would go with Sunderland to win 1-0 or 2-1.
At FP, I just don't think our team will show up. We haven't performed to our pre-Chrsitmas level and been lucky to get some of the late season wins we did. I could see it being level and then Sunderland scoring a late breakaway (Griggs) and winning 1-2 as well.
I don't think we'll get to Wembley, but I will be praying I am wrong.
Sunderland will lose to an inform Charlton in a 1-0 dramatic game.

Source: Euro Club Index
In League One, Charlton are currently the favourites to go up via the play-offs. Their strong favouritism at this stage is due to the weakness of their semi-final opponents Doncaster. If Charlton and Sunderland both reach the final, Sunderland will be the favourites to win.

Club To reach final To win promotion
Charlton . 62.1% . 31.5%
Sunderland 54.0% . 29.1%

People just like to predict failure so they can be pleasantly surprised if we win and not too bummed if we lose.....Human nature!
Don't know why people say our form has dropped.....heres the current form last 6 games......if it was the last 12 I think we'd be top.
Blunderland are miles behind.

Kick off time and it being on TV hasn’t helped demand.PakefieldBlue wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 6:06 pm It's interesting to see that we still haven't sold out our allocation for the away leg. I guess the cost involved in another trip to Sunderland so soon after the last one is putting people off. Not a cheap hobby!

Re: Sunderland Predictions.
Sunderland have not beaten us in the last nine games. Unfortunately, I can see them putting that right today with a convincing win over us. Followed by a draw at Fratton. Our standard playoff fare.
I also think they will win the final whoever they face and finally put their Wembley hoodoo to bed.
It’s been a brilliant season whatever the result and even if we did go up, we would definitely struggle next season. It’s one year too early for us methinks.

Re: Sunderland Predictions.
Sunderland forum "fans" are a miserable lot. Moaning about the team, manager and the likely poor attendance at the match tonight. Mostly pessimistic about their chances. I wonder if they will cheer up if they get to and win the final? Probably still be grumbling that they didn't get an automatic spot.
Don't let us get like that!

Only missed our goalPortchester PFC wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 4:19 pm I think it will be 1-1 up at theirs, them taking the lead and us equalising late, and then beat them 3-1 down at the park, i believe there will certainly be a red card, i suspect for them up at theirs as i think we will frustrate the hell out of them but i wouldn't discount one at each game !!
Either way, the atmosphere up at theirs will be quite hostile, and our team needs to keep their crowd on their backs, i expect it to be a cracker down at ours.
PUP
Still think we will beat them at the park though

The referee tomorrow night is Peter Bankes, with assistants Timothy Wood and Graham Kane. Fourth Official is John Brooks
Peter Bankes was the referee when we beat Sunderland 3-1 last December

Re: Sunderland Predictions.
So poor, no creativity or cutting edge over both games. Some significant investment in the team needed over the summer.

Re: Sunderland Predictions.
I just don't think the club wanted to go up this year. My opinion, but the form suggests they had chances to go up automatically and threw them away by 'not turning up' and likewise, over two games, didn't look like scoring if they had another 46.PakefieldBlue wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 9:46 pm So poor, no creativity or cutting edge over both games.
