Reeco Hackett - Fairchild

Post by Berkshire Blue »

Striker at Bromley, reportedly having a medical with us this morning prior to signing for £100K. Apparently was previously with Charlton and had a few games in their first team.

Anyone know more?

Given our recent record of signings from non-league clubs, got to be positive about this.

Let's hope KJ gives him more of a chance than he gave Louis Dennis

Fair bit of money for a non-league player.

Hopefully he comes good, but it's not that long ago we were signing players to improve the first team.

I'm hoping for a decent centre midfielder.

Don't worry, Jackett will move Seddon there once Brown is back fit!

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Big Mac is playing as a defensive midfielder in training ready for his first team bow in that position!

Louis Dennis didn't help himself by punching Nathan Thompson in the face during training and generally having a big time Charlie attitude. He might do well at a team like Fleetwood.

I heard about this one over Christmas. Bromley were beating everyone until he got injured, and the fans were keen to have him back as their form suddenly went out the window with his absence.

Could be a ‘low-risk/too good to ignore’ kind of deal for us. I don’t expect him to tear up any trees, but seems he’s been punching above his weight there.

Now on OS. Signed for two years with an option for a further year. Good luck to the lad, and I hope he either gets game time or goes out on loan.

Looking at this guy's 'career' to date you can't be anything but unimpressed, so this is a really fanciful, off the wall signing. Not making the grade at Stevenage and tossed aside by Charlton after brief stays at both clubs. Clearly Jackett has seen something in this guy that no-one else has yet spotted. Unless he is first team material there doesn't appear to be much sense in it, given that he is likely to block the progress of one or more of our Academy youngsters. Hopefully though he won't be one of the long line of Jackett's recruits who clutter up the substitutes bench but no more than that.

He starts tonight. I'll let him kick a ball for us before I start running him down in chatrooms .
