When you look at this doesn't it set our record in context?

On the other hand, when you think about our fan base and the apparent wealth of our owners it does seem odd that we are so far behind the squad value of so many teams in this league.

And how crazy is it that with average attendees of around 18,000 we have a squad valued around £5.5 million while Fleetwood with crowds of 3,000 have one valued at over £7 million? It's a funny old world.

I’d take that website and the values with a massive pitch of salt, example being pitman worth nearly £1m but with no value against our prized asset Roman Curtis.

Squad values are not a useful measure of investment. The "value" of players is just a guess until they are actually sold, and may go up or down massively. What we need to know are a team's annual player salary and transfer fee expenditures for a year. Teams should be required to make these public at the end of each season; that's the total, not individual player figures. We would then have something worth comparing to league position and level of support.
