Fleetwood game - Whatmough or Bolton?

Post by Dinksy »

Jack did nothing wrong except get himself booked on Saturday but I feel we should play the person who's engine is already up and running, so Bolton shades it for me.

True, but in my opinion Bolton is our best right back - tough decision for KJ. Personally I would play Jack for at least the first half and reassess at that point, depending on how things are going.

The problem is that we are likely to need Whatmough at some point, especially as Downing doesn't play and we are likely to come up against teams where we will need a strong CB if Burgess or Raggett are not available. This is a good opportunity to give him a game or at least part of a game as BB suggests.

Bolton it is - but where is Jack? Not even on the bench.

Went down a goal but pulled it back (Raggett).
Now 2-1! (og)
Also, Blunderland losing. A perfect time for 3 points.
Cmon boys...see this one out and bring home the bacon.

Well, 2-2. Probably 2 pts lost but not a disaster seeing as Blunderland lost 2-0
Only 3 pts separates 2nd through 8th

We didn't deserve to win that, but at least we didn't lose it. Move on to Saturday.

"Took him out of the firing line" apparently - seems a little Mourinho to me, sounds like blaming Jack for the Peterborough loss.

Lets be clear about this - Bolton had a poor game tonight - his clearances, heading, anticipation, tackling etc were poor and he simply does not inspire confidence in the position. Not only that he doesn't appear to be able to play it out from the back with any class. We missed Burgess desperately, Thank goodness he is back on Saturday. Whatmough has proved in the past that he is different class, lets hope he can return soon.

Defending was terrible last night. Nobody on McKay for the initial shot on the first goal and nobody on Evans for head-back on the second. Two defeats and a lucky draw without Burgess. What a relief he's back for Accrington.
I think automatic promotion will boil down to the game against Rotherham who were the biggest winners last night.
