2020-21 Fixtures
Happy Fixtures Day!
Over a month late compared to a normal year, but at last some football information. Released at 09:00 this morning. Really just pleased they are here, but hoping for something easier than last year's first six games.

Re: 2020-21 Fixtures
Presume our first game will be at home as our neighbours are away? Also, would really like to visit the new Plough Lane so hoping that fixture is later on in the season giving us a chance to be able to attend...

The games at the end of the season don't look too bad, always assuming that we may be near the top at that point!

Yup, Wimbledon away is the one for me...assuming we can attend games by that time.
Some stand out memories for me at Plough Lane........Blakie's back pass own goal, Billy Wilson's pile-driver into the top corner to send us top of the league...

LOL. I was standing right behind our goal that day. Alan Knight completely oblivious whilst we were all screaming at him. Watching Alan Ball screaming at him as he trudged off at half time

Yes, straight from the kick-off after going 1-0 down. Must be some record as the fastest goal we have ever conceded. The "Legend", as I remember, was still lying on the ground rubbing his knee when the ball rolled past him. Not sure who was the biggest plonker, Blake for not looking or Knight for assuming the goal would be ruled out.

Re: 2020-21 Fixtures
I have a little sub story to Blakey's own goal. One of my friends at the time was a big mate of Knightsie and a week or so after that own goal they came into my local and were playing pool . My mate Gary turned to the assembled crowd (without Knightsie seeing) and said "Watch this" . He picked up the cue ball and rolled it along the floor past Knightsie's feet . " Bring back any memories Alan ? " he quipped . Knightsie's reply was lost in the laughter but I think we have a fair idea what it would have been .
Everyone says David Beckham is not very intelligent. No-one says that Professor Stephen Hawking is a rubbish footballer!

All change. We are now going to start our season away to Stevenage in the EFL Trophy next Saturday (29th) instead of playing a friendly against Bristol City.
Makes sense to start getting fixtures out of the way in a compressed season.

Re: 2020-21 Fixtures
Starting the new EFL Trophy competition without resolving the last one is an insult to fans of both Pompey and Salford. They should just suspend the competition completely this season.

You can take the man out of Pompey
But you can`t take Pompey out of the man
