New Season

Post by Pompey1984+1 »

I can't recall a time I've been this disinterested in a new season I put this down to a culmination of factors.

1. The play off performances.
2. Not being able to go to games.
3. Salary Cap - feels like it's screwing us can't imagine we would have done so little business with out it.
4. Lack of preseason games.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Also, given how slow we started last season anyone else surprised by the lack of friendlies ?

This is what I said about the start of last season. I was just amazed that people were surprised when we started slowly.
The start of Pompey's league season (August) looks potentially tricky.

Shrewsbury (A). A team against whom we have struggled over recent seasons.
Tranmere (H). OK.
Sunderland (A). Obviously difficult.
Coventry (H). A good away team who should have got something at FP last season.
Rotherham (H). Postponed.
Blackpool (A). A place we have a good recent record, but another long trip.
In comparison, this year's first six fixtures are a completely different proposition.

Shrewsbury (H)
Rochdale (A)
Wigan A. (H)
Burton A. (A)
MK Dons (H)
Domcaster R. (H)

If we only manage five points, which is what we got last year (eight if you allow for the win we eventually got v. Rotherham), from that set I will be worried.

Edit: to correct basic adding up!
