Re: Stevenage
Half time 3 - 2 down. I'm actually pleased that I paid the tenner, as it gave me the opportunity to see how absolutely awful and clueless Pompey were.
That wasn't just bad, it was cringeworthy in the extreme. KJ now has a problem in that he can only substitute three players when to be honest most of them deserve to be hooked.

Re: Stevenage
I didn’t watch it, but sounds like McGillivray sent a huge message too.

Re: Stevenage
Things improved a bit in the second half. We actually managed to string some passes together, although there were also sloppy passages of play. I thought that Cannon looked bright when he came on and MacGillivray did well especially in the penalty shootout. He does seem to inspire a feeling of confidence, which is good for the team. The Marquis strike for his goal was quality.

Come on ladies. Calm down and get some perspective.
The starting line-up was almost certainly not our first choice and our ending line-up did all right. When we add a few new faces in September we will be better.

Re: Stevenage
Just as a matter of interest, apart from possibly Harrison in what way was that not KJ's first choice team, and if so why would KJ not start his best available eleven?

Re: Stevenage
Hi BB. I think that Cannon, Williams and Whatmough might be higher up KJ starting line up......and I'm hoping KJ will add MacGillivray to that list. He saw them at Totton on Tuesday and today was a chance to look at a few of the others who, let's face it, didn't cover themselves in glory. And some will have to make way for our exciting new signings next month!
Re: Stevenage
Probably also worth mentioning that Stevenage have brought in twelve new players this season, and I believe iFollow said they were starting today with seven of them so I think it's a little early to compare them with the Stevenage team of last season.
We live in a world where we know the cost of everything but recognise the value of nothing.

Re: Stevenage
I like Cannon and Whatmough, and would like Williams if he crossed the ball better, and I also like MacGillivray. However, I think that today KJ went with his strongest available line up as a dress rehearsal for the season, so they could get playing time together. Sadly however they didn't turn up for the first half, and some of the defending was truly awful. Looking on the bright side, maybe it was just one of those halves when nothing clicked.

Re: Stevenage
Maybe it was seen as an easy game and a glorified pre-season friendly by the team.
