Pompey: The Island City with a Football Club for a Heart
Anyone else reading this Neil Allen latest? I was lucky enough to get given it by one of my lads for Christmas and I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying it. Am learning some fascinating stuff about Pompey that I had no idea about.

About 3/4 of the way through. Not a lot of new factual information, but the personal stories of Pompey supporters, players and how they dealt with the extraordinary 2019-20 season make this a great read. A strong reminder that it is the people who make a football club and a community. Highly recommended.

This is a brilliant book. Each chapter sparks off a need to do more research about some of the characters and issues raised. When I have finished I’ll happily post it on, FOC, to anyone interested in reading it. First PM secures.
Avatar: Harry 'Brusher' Mills (19 March 1840 – 1 July 1905) was a hermit, resident in the New Forest in Hampshire, England, who made his living as a snake-catcher. He became a local celebrity and an attraction for visitors to the New Forest. No relation as far as I know

I've got about two more chapters to read so will finish it this weekend. What I have found amazing is how much some people have given to our club over the years, and I'm not talking about money here. Quite incredible.
