EFL Trophy Final - Fans to receive a refund

Pompey and Salford have informed their fans that have bought tickets for the EFL Cup Final will receive a refund .....details of that refund will follow shortly apparently.

A date for the final will be arranged shortly too.

Sad that the fans will not be there, but at least this will bring the matter to a close.

Gutted as would have been an amazing atmosphere if this were to be the first Wembley game but not to be unfortunately. Still hopefully that means the game will be played sooner than it otherwise would have so nothing like winning a cup to be a confidence booster for the team

Don't really want the money back I'm happy to wait because
1. Got Club Wembley seats - never been in there before and not happy about giving them up
2. Not seen Salford before
3. I want to be there to see us become the first team to retain the trophy

this way though means they can play behind close doors and get the fixture out of the way, before this years final

no (to a payout) the League keep all the income basically from a cup final. The winning team obviously get the highest level of prize money ....runner up 2nd highest etc.

I doubt Pompey will lose out financially because the final will be played behind closed doors.

Thank you. I have changed banks since I purchased mine so I may have to contact them regarding an alternative refund destination.

they have said that refunds will start on 1st Feb and they predict it may take most of the month before everyone has got their money back.

Salford have already made all of the refunds. The club secretary drove round and dropped an envelope with the refund money through both of their letterboxes.
