If anyone's interested, I did complete the Great South last October.
Since then, I did Southampton 10K again in April, knocking a full 3 minutes of my previous time, and a week later, the Great Birmingham Run (half-marathon), in 2hrs 9mins, and I didn't realise just how bloddy hilly Brum is.
Got a nice, flat (hopefully) half coming up in early September, using more-or-less half of the London Marathon route in the opposite direction. (And before you sarky b'stards ask, no I am not running backwards, you know exactly what I mean!)
