Poland struck by two missiles. Believed to be Russian.

Post by Sam_Brown »

Bound to happen at some point unfortunately with the amount of missiles flying in recent days.

Seems immediate response from the US is a cautious one regarding wanting to ensure they have all the facts first.

Not sure where it’s going to go from here. Anyone wanna make any predictions lol?

Always incredibly sad for those who lost their lives from this missile strike but (and I hate to use a 'but' here as it is appearing to lessen the impact of those deaths) it does now appear that they may have been fired by Ukraine at incoming Russian missiles.

Still Russia to blame of course as, if they had not attacked an independent state, Ukraine would not have fired them but it appears it will not be considered an attack on a NATO country so averting the triggering of article 5, this time.

Good reminder why it's always better to wait for the facts to come out first.

* More suggestions have been made that the explosion of a missile in a Polish village was caused not by a Russian attack - but by the activities of Ukraine's air defence systems

* The head of Nato - a military alliance of Western countries which opposes Russia's invasion of Ukraine - said there was "no indication" of any deliberate Russian attack, adding that the blast was "likely" caused by Ukrainian defences. His view echoes that of the Polish president

Good post Sam. Shows the need for cool heads and clear thinking.

The sooner this gets resolved the better. Similar to the US gun debate, more weapons in use means more risk of things going wrong.

Let’s not lose sight of the fact that Russia lobbing hundreds of cruise missiles at civilians is where the blame lies.

Absolutely right. At the same time, let's not kid ourselves that Zelensky will miss an opportunity to try to drag NATO into this and start Wolrd War Three.

This is the problem with 24/7 journalism these days. Everything is made up to be a drama instantly. Like the "cost of living crisis", principally caused by the hiking of the cost of fuel which the Press seemed to have forgotten
