Accrington

Post by BlueinPLtwenty »

I went to Accrington a couple of seasons ago when we were coasting at 1-0 in the first half. A stunning athletic header by Ellis Harrison just before half time from a corner was just what was needed to motivate the team for the second half. The trouble was that motivation was for Accrington because it was an own goal and we ended up losing 4-1. So what is in store for us this year?

The way we are playing, I'd say we'd be lucky to get anything from this. I'm certainly not confident. My boys and I travelled up to Accrington for the game in March 2015. I remember Josh Windass scoring a screamer from a free kick early on and us equalising quickly after that, but it ending up 1-1. It was a game we should have won as they were down to 10 men early in the second half. What I remember more than anything else was how friendly all their stewards were before, during and after the game. Just checked the league table back then and we were 14th in L2 then so we have made some progress

Someone made the point that when we got stuffed a couple of years ago, they had Bishop & Charles playing against our makeshift defence and a Guy who I can`t remember his name running the midfield (I have just looked it up I think it was FInley who now plays for Bristol Rovers)

:D Well I wonder what's going on when Lowery comes back in one game but not the next. On the other hand Bishop and Ragget, for example, don't get injuries so who knows what's going on.
