Walk The 92

Post by blitzoid »

All,
Whilst idly browsing twitter the other day, I came across a retweet from a Pompey fan - Scott Mclachlan, someone who I have never met - who is walking to all 92 league grounds to raise money for charity.
Basically, he was begging for somewhere to stay in Torquay.
Well, I arranged for him to stay at a friends B&B in Paignton. Just because I could.
Please, take a look at his website, donate to his cause (Prostate Cancer research), follow him on twitter, and if you know people in any of his destinations, arrange for a nice bed for him.

That was good of you and thank you.

I tweeted it for Scott yesterday and it was re-tweeted a lot which is the way to get thousands of people to see such a request.

Scott is a PST board member and, up until a couple of months ago was the PST spokesman.

Thanks again.

Fine cause. Well done blitzoid for bringing to our attention Scott McLachlan's worthy efforts.
There should probably be a programme of screening for Prostate Cancer for men approaching their autumn years.
Stop looking for solutions to symptoms and start identifying the disease.

Scott needs somewhere to stay in Exeter tonight, if anyone has any ideas.

If anyone can help, I can pass a message on to him.

He's on his way to Yeovil at the moment - should be staying at my gaff Monday or Tuesday night. I'm quite impressed, him managing to walk from Yeovil to my place after a long day walking. I hope we're in when he gets here :)

Utterly gobsmacking undertaking! Let's hope we still have a club by the time he completes his trek.

Put Scott up at my gaff for the last couple of nights as he trooped his way around Brum. He's walking from the Hawthorns to the Bescot today before doing Walsall to Wolves tomorrow.
Watching wheels spin and dust settle.

That's good of you John!

He's doing well - 16 clubs and more than 600 miles walked so far!

Which is great, but deserves to have done far better. Hopefully, as Scott gets nearer to completing this astonishing feat, publicity will increase and pledges will follow. I've been following his blog and it's an entertaining read.
