Jealous perhaps ?
All Waddle is ever going to be remembered for is a dreadful haircut , an awful record with Glenn Hoddle and missing a penalty against the Germans.

Everyone says David Beckham is not very intelligent. No-one says that Professor Stephen Hawking is a rubbish footballer!

Becks has to be in the top 1000. I mean, how many have there been in total since '92 was it when the prem started? 6000 odd?

I was going to say that you dont win 115 caps for england without being half decent, but then I noticed that waddle had won 62...kinda blows that argument

What ******. He's easily top ten globally, let alone Prem-only.
I was a Wembley regular when he was captain and he was never not directing plays and he really can put the ball on any spot within 50m. Then add in that he is complete gent and sporting ambassador, with zero delusions of superiority (unlike his stick) and you have a far more inspirational sportsman than the vast majority of the current crop of knuckledragging f**kwits.
My OH's mother happened across him quietly shopping alone in a Manchester Sainsbury's some years back. Despite being a die-hard Citeh fan, she paused for a 'quick chat' which eventually lasted 10-15mins, and he happily talked about life as a Prem footballer, life at Utd, the Manchester rivalry, the fame, the perils of losing touch with reality etc. The conversation only ended once word got around and multiple heads started peering round the corners at the ends of the aisle.

Beckham or Waddle, no brainer. Becks every time. Waddle sounds like he is jealous, he was the player who looked out of his depth @ international level IMO. Beckham though looked very comfortable in his prime.
