Match Fixing

Post by The Cincinnati Kid »

Pretty clear from the bbc report that this has gone on in the leagues below our current lofty standing.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24363625
Also pretty clear from previous news items that its a problem in weak nations internationals and especially in chumps league qualifiers when the team might be from Chumpmenistan etc.
So the common thread is...its a problem where there are players that don't make beaucoup $$$$$

So the question is....is it a problem in League 2?

Certainly seems to be true in cricket. Pakistan, the most notorious match fixers are also the most poorly paid. Circa £14k per year, compared to £80k in India/West Indies, £125k in South Africa and £250-500k in England/Australia.
