So what exactly ARE the rules regarding the 'keeper taking the bails off?
Can he catch it and kick the bails off, for instance?

The wicket is put down if a bail is completely removed from the top of the stumps, or a stump is struck out of the ground... or (v) by a fielder with his hand or arm, providing that the ball is held in the hand or hands so used, or in the hand of the arm so used.

So far, so good, 50 on the board, no wickets. Just the 300 to go then.......

There was a case a while ago where a player (Matt Prior I think) more or less shoulder barged the stumps with the ball in his hands to run out a batsman. Perfectly legal.Guernsey Blue wrote:Law 28.1Earl Grey wrote:So what exactly ARE the rules regarding the 'keeper taking the bails off?

Great batting from Cook and Hales to bring up a lead without losing a wicket.

A draw on the cards or an England win as they lead by 311 with 5 wickets in hand. A draw probably but batting last in a Test even on a decent pitch can be difficult.
Great Test Match.

Pakistan 125-7 now. What a game. Really a superbly entertaining Test due to England making a horlicks of their 1st innings. Incredible.
