Kenny might just have handled Pitman beautifully. He has looked out of sorts in the friendlies, and when he started against Luton (though appreciate he had no service). Apparently, he looked VERY fired up when he came on last night. Perhaps dropping him was the kick up the rear he needed?Earl Grey wrote: Oh, and Pitman, please.....not Hawkins!

Re: Nose Bleed Time
You are probably right there. I was probably thinking more of last season: Evans not playing, Lowe at post-75 minutes tiredness and who-knows on the left. We just didn't seem to be able to break on teams as they pressed us back in search of an equaliser. I hope that this season will be different and we will be able to utilise space as it opens up in the later stages.Earl Grey wrote:Not sure I agree with you when you say "pace is not something we have in abundance" because Curtis, Lowe and Evans all have oodles of pace and most sides don't boast more than 3 players in their team that are notably fast.....not in this division anyway.

Re: Nose Bleed Time
All sounds very encouraging, Bill, and long may it continue, but I guess there are tougher tests to come and we'll have a better idea of things once we've played some of the other early front-runners.Selsey Bill wrote:In closing, there's a steely resilience to our current squad that I felt was missing last season. We would have almost certainly lost last night's game last season. So, in answer to your question, no I don't think it is undeserved, more a touch fortunate perhaps? PUP

How could you drop Hawkins? Currently top of the assists table in league 1 with 4. He is knocking them down for Lowe, curtis and Evans to score.Selsey Bill wrote:Kenny might just have handled Pitman beautifully.
