Huge Favour Needed
Anyone live in the Stubbington area?
I need a photograph.
Long story short:
Mother Kid passed away years ago and was buried at Crofton Old Church, the 12th century Norman church on, iirc, Titchfield Rd.
Old man Kid, being an idiot, purchased a stone with only her name on it like he thought he might be immortal.
When Old Man Kid passed a couple of years back I brought a new stone with both names on and asked gravestone guy to send me a picture of it installed, which he did.
However, the stone is polished and a bit shiny and when he took the photo, his reflection is visible In the picture.
This has been bugging the carp out of me.
Anyhoo, if any of you intrepid posters live in the area and would be willing to get me a new pic, The Kid family (which is spread far and wide) would be very happy and, on your next visit to the USA, would be willing to give you a can of bear repellent AND a rattlesnake decoy.
Failing that i'll take the phone # of the local flower guy

Much as bear repellent sounds very tempting and even with such a sad story, I'm afraid I'm nowhere near, so cannot help you. I'm sure one of our friendly bunch of miscreants will be able to help.

Don't blame you.....used to short cut through that one early mornings on a bike run to Fareham station.....but not when it was dark. Scared the carp out of me. As I recall it was built around 1160RubiconCSL wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 3:08 pm Much as bear repellent sounds very tempting and even with such a sad story, I'm afraid I'm nowhere near, so cannot help you. Parts of it go back to 875 AD. I thought it was the oldest church near enough anywhere...the church in Titchfield pre dates it!!
Hooded Monk it was iirc.

What a wonderful sight!! And such a caring (Care) bear..took the cover off and stacked it neatly to the side. At the end of filming did it replace the cover and leave a tip on the side? Must admit...it would scare me *hitless to think I might be in the hottub, chilling out and one (or more) of those things came along being curious!!! But lovely to see...from a distance.

my bud has a cabin in the smokies Tennessee....we go down twice a year for the mans weekend. I've posted some of the photos before on here but yeah....they are around. Almost all of his pics are from an auto camera though as they are very crafty and know to visit when you are out.eltorrro wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 6:14 pm What a wonderful sight!! He has a hot tub on the back deck exactly like the one in that vid.
Also on the deck when we are out there at night...(I swear I'm not making this up)...a can of bear repellant and a .45
In 40 plus visits over 16 years I've only actually seen one real close once. He just walked around the deck, bummed a cigar and left.

Fantastic. What a beautiful creature - from a distance of course.
