Pompey Penguin wrote: Sun May 10, 2020 8:34 pm ......We have a new slogan, as expected, but also a completely made up lockdown tier system that has never been mentioned before to allow the PM to say we have gone from tier 4 to tier 3.

The word "shambles" is barely adequate. Overall just enough to allow the press to claim that it is all wonderful tomorrow, but with enough caveats to absolve the government of all liability and dump this on individual employers and ultimately employees.
This new "plan?" has Dominic Cummings written all over it. Appease the right-wing press, make it up as you go along, have no real plan for when it does happen, avoid a situation where you may have to answer questions.
Obviously questions were unavoidable at this point but I'll stick by my other points above.

For those who argued that the new plan was clear and not confusing; I wonder if you have changed your views now after yesterdays press conference by Dominic Cummings to explain the intricacies and his interpretation a 'straightforward' plan. Bear in mind that he was discussing the first plan (Stay Home, Help the NHS, Save Lives) that was explained on a single page of a website and on a leaflet. The latter plan was over 50 pages in length.

If the 'evil genius' Dominic Cummings required a one-hour Q&A session to explain his interpretation of a two-page document, how the fook are Sun readers going to manage 55 pages?

This is why there are now so many people flouting the guidelines and why we are likely to see another spike in this dreadful virus.

More will follow. You cannot speak out against Cummings and keep your job within this Government. Those who know he has done wrong must either stay silent or leave. Cummings is a powerful man.

Finally, the only view that really matters:
"In a statement, Durham Police said they view Mr Cummings' 50-mile round trip to Barnard Castle with his wife and son as "minor" because there was no apparent breach of social distancing rules during their visit.
The force said it had "no intention to take retrospective action in respect of the Barnard Castle incident", since this would amount to "treating Mr Cummings differently from other members of the public."
The statement confirmed that the force had not taken retrospective action against any other person.
On the issue of whether it was an offence for Mr Cummings to drive himself and his family from London to Durham to isolate on his family's farm, Durham Police said it did "not consider an offence was committed"

Maybe we can now expect and apology from the Bias Broadcasting Corp and Emily Maitlis?

Interestingly the HQ of GlaxoSmithKline is in Barnards Castle....

Plus the biggest issue is still why he felt it ok to leave London in the first place rather than behave like everyone else has.

All media is biased.
Problem is with those that pretend otherwise and are funded from the public purse. More LOLs for those duped into thinking otherwise.

I heard Dominic Cummings played football while visiting Barnard Castle to make sure his foot wasn't broken as it felt a bit dodgy the day before.

I don't normally get involved in "political" type issues, but I found this quite amusing.
