Great shame as he has definitely made a difference, but time for Ronan to regain his form, fast.

....and that's the optimistic view from KJ before they see the results of the scan. Knees and hamstrings are always going to be the ones to worry about.

apparently confirmed now as 6 weeks. KJ feared it would be a lot longer and would require surgery and that the 6w is actually the best outcome.....

recover quickly Mr Jacobs.

Saturday & Tuesday will be a more accurate test of exactly where we stand in this years league.

Luckily, Curtis seemed to step up to the plate on Tuesday, but he needs to fight for his place in the team ahead of Jacobs to keep him on his toes.

Don't disagree. However, I believe all 3 of Charlton's centre backs are out for Saturday with Pearce and Watson both injured, and Inniss got sent off on Tuesday night. Whilst they’ve not conceded in almost 8 hours, it’s probably about as good a time to play them as we could hope for. Pearce, in particular, is a massive loss for them IMO.

We're fortunate to have such a good replacement in Ronan Curtis, he's been excellent overall for us & carries such a goal threat. I reckon Jacobs may well have to bide his time now. Win win for us having 2 excellent wide left players.

There was a lot of talk about this back in August and early September. With the season being somewhat condensed, and teams having to play two matches per week for a lot of the season, squad depth will become even more important than usual. All teams will lose players to injury and suspension and general tiredness and the quality of reserves will have a big part to play in the outcomes as the season goes on. Pompey are lucky in having good backups for most positions; Harrison out and Marquis steps up, Jacobs out and Curtis steps up.

Thanks for that SB I did not realise that Charlton had those problems with injuries and suspensions. As for Lincoln on a wet tuesday night, that will sort out the men from the boys.
