If we play with wing backs there is no place for Kamara. Lane. Whyte. Martin.
It would also mean playing all the fit central defenders, what if one gets injured or suspended?
We'll not fundamentally change the shape maybe a bit of a tweak here and there - I wonder if we will play Saydee up top in a bit more of a target man role he played well with his back to goal last night.
To be clear I’m not saying we play this formation permanently, I believe we have become a little predictable. Recent 6 games results back my theory. Why not mix it up esp at Home.
If one of the central defenders is injured and we have no fit replacement then a formation change is forced, nothing much you can do about that (same as any position on the pitch).
Without Bishop playing I genuinely have concerns about playing just 1 up top, Colby is excellent at leading the line however I strongly doubt the replacements have the same ability. Yes Yengi has more pace than Bishop however he is still fairly inexperienced and I’d not place my faith in him to score the goals we need to get us promoted.
I agree with BlueWalter, we need to sign a proven L1 centre forward, someone who can lead the line alone but also complements Bishop when fit.

I can see the logic in what you are suggesting however think it falls down with Sparkes as a wing back as yes he is fine going forward but less so defending and with our Kamara or Lane or anyone in front of him it leaves us terribly vulnerable down our left its bad enough when we have someone else in that side already
Plus Lane has been one of our success stories this year and I wouldn't be happy seeing him sidelined by effectively playing 5 specialist defenders
Whilst attacking a side playing 3-5-2 only has 3 defenders e.g. Dale and Hamilton are shown as midfielders on the Blackpool website….i think you’d agree they did more than defend on Saturday.
Ref Lane, I don’t see him as a good fit for the wingback role as he isn’t at L1 level against the ball IMHO (same goes for Kamara)

agreed. Swanson and Sparkes look like decent options though as wing backs.
