Back from the game.

Post by Pompey1984+1 »

Just walked in the door after the game today.

Good win, poor performance.

Start was delayed by 4 minutes due to the medics running into the home end.

We then just didn't get going, and were poor first half. Second half brighter but still slippy and not really good enough.

Best bit of football, created a good chance and a sound finish. Well done Kamara and Lane.

Pack seemed to enjoy the win as was really pumped up at the end.

In summary not a good game, didn't play well but got the win we needed.

Glad to see that you managed to get to a game and appreciate your feedback as you say at this time of the season it’s not the performance but the result that’s important.
Unfortunately it was not a trip I could manage but looking forward to the remaining games which are within my capabilities of traveling
Already booked Charlton and Blackpool

I think we all expected a difficult game. They are fighting for their lives, a draw would have been major for them. Class usually wins, it was a wonderful move for the goal. We did hit the post twice and another shot from point blank range somehow managed to go over the bar. Wheras they had virtually nothing and never really threatened our goal. As said before: 3 points, clean sheet and Top of the League

Thanks for the BFTG - always interesting to read feedback from someone present at the game.

Was listening on BBC Radio Solent who made the same comment about the poor first half and better second half.

My guess is that the slow start may partly be because of teams testing each other early in the game. But we played them last October. So you would have thought that we already had some knowledge about the team, etc?

Importantly, we won. Now, it's Cambridge tomorrow, Tuesday. PUP
