Agreed. The club will go about its business quietly and we'll only hear about signings when they are done. Everything else is just pointless speculation.

the local Brizzie paper says that offers have been made to the player (so tampering basically) since he has a year left on his contract but that no offers have been made to the club.

the paper says that if the player won't sign a new contract then Rovers will sell in the summer since he is 25 and can leave on a free in 12m time.
