You're right! Absolutely fabulous.

I once got on a bus and the man I sat next to had a carrot in his ear.

One reason for this is that it genuinely splits the audience!

That's why this joke interests me. Something I find so funny leaves others cold. And hey - if we were on a dating website, we'd all say we had a GSOH. But it's so subjective - one man's meat and all that....

Was that comment to do with the joke though..... thought I'd ask before the usual mob.
Hard to tell actually, she says it so often.

Well I laughed out loud, but then I like surreal humour like that.

Worth a :rofl and a :thumb

That said, my wife is giving me the awkward eyes and asked if that was it.

This "joke" to me, ranks alongside a pile of bricks or an unmade bed with condoms as "art".

I prefer my humour to be funny, not outright weird. Monty Python was a bit surreal at times, but mostly funny.

That's what the joke is about, there's nothing to get...

Also..... I was always told that if you had to explain a joke, it simply isn't funny.

Yeah, best stick to the mother-in-law jokes....

It isn't surreal...or weird...it's just dumb. That's the joke.

It's the delivery which counts on this one and by whom. Like someone said, it's Tommy Cooper material for sure.

But there's nothing to explain. You either find it amusing or you don't. That's why I titled it a humour survey. And those that found it funny are the ones I'm pleased found it funny.

My next plan is to choose 5 forum members to take part in a virtual Come Dine With Me. I'm sticking with the formula. They always choose very different people who are obviously not going to get along. There's always someone very camp (preferably also a drag queen), an animal lover, a fusspot, a slob and a bit of skirt. And they all have to be opinionated.

So far, I've got the cutting edge of Miss Tickle's bottom's tongue to provide the commentary a la the wonderful Dave Lamb - and he's shy and private so he won't want to appear on screen; Pomp for obvious reasons (and he is slightly odd), Jasper because he loves cats and he'll get furious about something, call comeone a c**t and walk out. Sacre Bleu the man you all love to hate and probably Milkins to watch the love affair unfold between him and Pomp - and finally me, the good lookin' totty whose halcyon days are but a fading memory and a cat hater (it's true, I'm sorry Jasper) plus I'm the voice of reason and modesty and a damn good virtual cook to boot so I'll win the money. That's the pilot show anyway and I think it's a winner. I'm planning series one if that goes well as there are some BIG characters on here and it was impossible to choose.

I need to get out more.... but at least I don't watch X Factor or BGT.

The oddest person I've ever seen on Come Dine With Me was from Southampton....

'Fading memory'? Surely you mean faded memory?
Yep, I could play my part.

Awesome idea!

OK, Series 1, Episode 1 - Captain Europe, Claire, LiKW, PompeyPanther and Pompski
