Yes, it is dangerous speculation, but I suspect many of us are assuming the same thing.

It could be precautionary - if there are different potential scenarios then having the recordings of the conversations seems sensible to me. There's a difference between arrested and charged.

The grandmother of 12-year-old Tia Sharp has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Christine Sharp, 46, is being questioned by detectives along with her partner, Stuart Hazell, 37.

Tia was reported missing on 3 August and a body was found at Ms Sharp's house in New Addington in Croydon, south London, on Friday.

A 39-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three were arrested on Friday and are being questioned at a south London police station.

Yes, strange family. This according to the Telegraph:

Mr Hazell, who previously dated Tia's mother Natalie Sharp, 30, and has served two jail sentences for supplying crack cocaine and the possession of a machete, said: "My previous has got nothing to do with it. Everyone's got a shady past."

Unemployed painter and decorator, cos no one wants painting done these days .... aka lazy bar steward!

Even so, no matter what the dynamics of the family, still an awful thing to happen to any 12 year old, you can only imagine what she went through before she died. And it must be awful for her mother.
