McInnes thanks the press for all their positive coverage and that brings proceedings to a close

Never been a huge fan of Whittingham as a manager (massive fan as a player, of course) but at least he's got his heart in the right place (even though he wrote to all the top flight clubs when he was a player to get away from us, if you recall).
But stability is probably of the essence at the moment - and the team are starting to play for him - so I'm actually, on balance, pleased it's settled.

Thanks for the updates SB.
I think appointing Guy is a no brainer. He is Pompey. Fans are Pompey and hopefully the players will feel like they are Pompey too.

For me, the most interesting aspect of all this will be which players we have in our squad at the beginning of next season.

Any mention of when work on the new stadium will start ?

Guy Whittingham definitely did write to all the top clubs to get interest in him. Only Villa seemed to take up on the offer where they played him in a sort of midfield role...when he actually got selected, that is. It took him a while to get a regular spot.Bluesbro' wrote:Wasn't that actually Aloisi?Earl Grey wrote:Never been a huge fan of Whittingham as a manager (massive fan as a player, of course) but at least he's got his heart in the right place (even though he wrote to all the top flight clubs when he was a player to get away from us, if you recall).

John Aloisi may also have advertised himself fairly openly as well....not sure on that one. He went to Coventry iirc and did reasonably well with them.

Y'know what, I think that ranks alongside a certain stadium-side statue for sheer folliness.Selsey Bill wrote:This one?Norman Piper wrote:Any mention of when work on the new stadium will start ?
