Media Savvy Types..Enquiry.
Any inside tips as to best way to get local/national radio stations to listen to unsolicited contributions? BBC it would seem only want to deal with an elite, ExpressFM don't bother answering your email, and Talk Sport's mail addy ends up as a delivery failure.
I've got a couple of tracks which I reckon would work as show intros/backings...just need to get the beggars to listen.
Ideas?

Many years ago I made direct personal contact with idividual presenters and producers. Dunno if that would work now but they must be more accessible through all sorts of social media. How about going through a local hospital radio station which will be accessible and may have a contacts book you can tap into?

As you say VS, that was long ago - contact with presenters and producers from outside contributors simply doesn't happen now! From what I gather from the enquiry, this is a specialised piece of music to used as an introduction. If it is, then there are a few hundred music libraries (mainly in the States) where you can purchase this type of asset and that's where most producers source their material.Victory Stadium wrote:Many years ago I made direct personal contact with idividual presenters and producers. Speak to a publisher that specialises in soundtracks and themes. I think if you join BASCA then you get access to a directory of publishers who are looking for specific music but it's costly to join and IIRC you can only join once you have already joined the PRS, again costly and you can only join them once you have a song published in the public domain!
However BASCA do have an accessible directory here where you might find publishers or composers or similar material who may be able to help you: http://www.basca.org.uk/members-directory/
EDIT: This is what you need: http://www.mpaonline.org.uk/directory Look for a publisher here who accepts submissions and send your stuff to them.

Dude...put it on youtube and email links.
You have to put something short that breeds curiosity in yer emails.
"Promo music links with free nekid wimin" should do the trick
A long shot fer sure but free and easy.

Thanks to all above contributors.
To be honest, from what I've seen the industry is sealed as tight as an anchovy's anus...so maybe the old skool show up and refuse to leave until they've listned method is the best way?
(Remember King of Comedy with De Niro?....something like that!)
