Rio Olympics 2016
It's been well publicised that Rio are a bit behind in preparation.
According to the Telegraph with two years to go, London was 60% complete, the shambles that was Athens was about 40% ready, but Rio is currently estimated to be at about 10%.
Now admittedly, they've got the small matter of a World Cup to host in about six weeks but I think they might have bitten off more than they can chew here. The media have made some noises about the possibility of some London venues being reused, but I can't see the IOC ever letting that happen. They'd probably cull the events entirely.
Some builders are going to be earning a few quid in overtime...

These kind of stories get banded about in the media before every major sporting event no matter where it's held .

It was always part of the plan that some London venues would be reused. The hockey arenas from 2012 were dismantled and shipped out there. The stands from the swimming were also going to be used now they have been taken off.Weybridge wrote:It's been well publicised that Rio are a bit behind in preparation.

They are reusing the water polo venue too. Was designed with that in mind.
