Amazed. He looked like a very solid player. If true it can only be because we have too many midfielders who can do that job.

Vastly overrated, escpcially seeing as though we're in the league above now.

It took him a long time to get fit and then needed resting after a couple of games, I wonder if that's as much a factor in the decision as anything else.

That sounds a good theory. With limited resources you can't risk players with poor recovery times after injury when you have plenty of other midfielders who can do that job.

Still think it's a shame. He looked pretty good to me and further was the only player who could match Albie McCann on the bandy-legs front.

Still, more chances for the youngsters like May and Close which may ultimately be to the club's benefit since we seem to be embarked on a long-term strategy now assuming Eisner completes the takeover.

On the subject of Tweets, Gary Roberts tweeted yesterday that he wanted recommendations for a taxi company to do the airport run from Pompey to Gatwick.

I asked him if he was flying to Wigan, but didn't get a response.....

Don't be too hard on "old Gazza". Over the years there's been a lot of players through the doors at FP who have done less than he has, if you only count that left foot chipped goal!

Not quite sure what the fuss is all about. He had one good game for us, the last of the season, where admittedly he was outstanding, but you have to question how long it took him to get fit, and he has flattered to deceive wherever he has been before, with feedback from fans of other clubs that he has played for that he has an attitude, is lazy, etc. The cynics amongst us would say that he was playing for a contract in the Cheltenham game. I'd trust Kenny Jackett on this one.

Entirely agree.

Would add that the KJ approach to the new season is somewhat different from Paul Cook - for example, no overseas visit for team building, complete silence on recruitment, (perhaps) stronger support for younger players, fewer news announcements for the local paper.

Paul was not necessarily wrong. But KJ's approach strikes me as being lower profile and steadier in that sense.

It was said tongue-in-cheek, with lots of winking emojis.

I know and I was being patronising as well as sympathetic. I reckon he is only running on fumes now and if he stays (imho) Div 3 will be too much for him.
As for the initial post re Stanley Aborah(spl), whether one trusts Mr Jackett or not it's his decision. Fascinating ain't it but not overly exciting :tw
