Is Fratton Park his spiritual home?

If you are looking for sensible alternatives, then Barnsley fired Daniel Stendel after he got promotion with Barnsley last year. Barnsley played attractive, winning football. Also, he hates Joey Barton.

The downside is that many Hearts fans want him as manager, so he will probably be off the table come summer 2020.

Stendel was also sacked from Barnsley after losing 15 straight games

Not true mate. A winless run of 10 games was what it was. A few draws in amongst those games as well. He had Moore & iirc another of his best players sold from under him. Still a hugely popular figure @ Oakwell apparently.

Apologies, I must have read that wrong somewhere.

Stendel was sacked/departed after a massive row with the owners. All Barnsley's best players from L1 were sold from under him and not replaced with anything Championship worthy.

Imagine if we had got promoted last season, and Jackett had to make do with the same players, but with Lowe, Clarke, Curtis, Whatmough and Naylor all sold, with no replacements. We might have lost a few games.

See article in most recent WSC.
