Is that right? Am I missing anything?

I was curious as to how many times we played at Wembley before the 07/08 cup winning season.

Also outside the top 6 there can’t be many teams to have played at Wembley more than us in recent memory?

They were in the FA Cup. One win (1939) and two defeats. The 1939 defeat is also the answer to a great "Who wants to be a Millionaire" question: Which club holds the record for holding the FA Cup for the most years in succession? Answer - Portsmouth - having won in 1939 it then wasn't held for the next 5 years during WW2

1929 Bolton beat Pompey in the FA Cup Final 2-0

1934 Manchester City beat Pompey 2-1 (after Pompey scored first & City crippled our centre half) in the FA Cup Final

1939 Pompey beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 (Wolves were odds on favourites) in the FA Cup Final

1942 wartime cup final was at Wembley too. Brentford beat us 1 - 0. There is Pathe Newsreel footage on YouTube.

I didn't know about the wartime cup. We learn something every day.

I remembered reading something about this years ago and then heard it mentioned again the other day but had to look it up to check the venue. We also played in a Charity shield after winning the league but that was not held at Wembley.
