So what happened? Wasn't on Beeb 1 at the advertised time
It was earlier at about 3.30. Nearly caught me out til I looked on the Freeview TV guide online.

That was the only game I missed out of that cup run, was working overseas for that game, my mate called me from in the ground when the keeper was sent off until the point the pen went in. I got some strange looks when I celebrated on the end of my phone

Did we not beat them twice at home in the league? I recall the one with the classic Rio own goal as a win, I recall a 1-1 with (I think) Benjani getting the equalizer and I'm thinking we also had a 2-0 win. also recall Ronaldos brilliant free kick at Old Trafford
Of course I cant recall what Mrs Kid told me yesterday

Wasn't that the Arsenal game at the end of the great escape season?

3 times @ home iirc. The other one was in our run to safety in 2004. Steve Stone smashing one in from close range. Then we were heroic with some amazing defensive blocks etc. (Linvoy to the fore).

both mat be true I guess. though I did find the benjani equalizer on youtube so that was defiantly against utd for 1-1 and another clip from I think 2005? where we were up 2-0 but it didn't show the whole game so was unclear

I still don't know how Sylvain Distan kept that Carrick effort out.

This is a good resource I've just found. Shows all the matches United had vs Portamouth. (A loss actually means a Win for us as it's from the United perspective...).
