That’s a huge blow for Pompey. I always thought he was a top bloke and excellent CEO for us. Honest and always engaging with the fans. Has there ever been a better CEO at Pompey?Looks like the Eisners really are having a good shake up from top to bottom. I’m sure they had an influence in his decision to step down.

Re: Mark Catlin stepping down as Chief Executive
In fairness he is staying on as a Director and given that he has another role lined up, suspect this may well be a case of his decision rather than being pushed. Had been an excellent servant and/or leader of the club.

I'll always be grateful to him and the supporters trust for ensuring the survival of our club and steadying the ship during the dark days. Be interesting to see who replaces him.

Actually, this is promotion for Mark.Claygate wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 11:23 am That’s a huge blow for Pompey. I always thought he was a top bloke and excellent CEO for us. He remains within the Eisner group of companies. He becomes General Manager, Sports and Entertainment, of the Topps company that the Eisners have just taken public for $1.3 billion. My guess is that he is rated highly by the Eisners who will use his sports experience in a broader context.
And Mark will still be there in the background as a Director of PFC to provide advice if needed.
Thanks Mark - all the best for your new position.

I think that he has done an excellent job for Pompey, and I am pleased that he is remaining on the board.

Re: Mark Catlin stepping down as Chief Executive
We owe Mark Catlin an awful lot for his work in saving the club, working through the fan-ownership period to great success and then four years in L1. I can't imagine we could have had a better CEO during this time. He will never have to buy a drink in Portsmouth.
8-10 years is usually reckoned to be the most for a CEO in one position, and he falls right in that zone. I am very pleased that Mark has left through a promotion within the parent organisation and that he will still be on hand to offer advice through the transition period.

Mark has done a fantastic job for us, but this is the right decision at the right time I feel. It will have almost certainly been his decision. Anyone who has read Neil Allen's excellent book "Pompey: The Island City with a Football Club for a Heart" will know that this has been on Mark's mind for a number of years. I wish him all the best.

Re: Mark Catlin stepping down as Chief Executive
He has been excellent for the club and this is clearly recognised by the Eisners with the move to another of their companies. Glad he is staying on in some role at PFC, will continue to be a great asset.

A class act IMO, I wish him all the best and am glad that he'll still have some influence.
