Interesting article in the News concerning Michael Smith`s stay at Fratton Park. My impression of him was He wasn`t quite in tune, He looked as if he wasn`t interested at times and not giving it everything. For a Centre Forward of his size He never seemed to win anything in the air and again it looked as if He was not really trying. This why Pompey Fans are split on Dale because He gives 110% but a lot of what He does is crap but at least He tries.

One of my family members was friends with his family so I had a few updates about how he was getting on whilst with us. I always liked him to be honest.

From what I was told though, the situation got so bad the authorities said it would be best he left the club (hence the move to Northampton) as he was receiving dangerous threats from our own fans.

To be quite honest I didn't think he was much good and I couldn't understand why we signed him. I think he suffered from chance starvation like a lot of the strikers we have had in recent years but I still didn't rate him.
