Not really given the fact I’m a Saints fan
This is a tricky problem for me. I know quite a few Saints fans, even one in the family but only by marriage. When nice things happen for friends you are happy for them and, conversely, when something makes them sad you feel for them and sympathise. Now most of the Saints supporting people I know are nice people and I hope the best for them. So being a Pompey supporter it is ingrained in you to want Saints to lose, and get pleasure from it.
Today I met an old acquaintance who comes from this area, which is a real Pompey enclave. He chose to support Saints because Pompey were cack and Saints were in the top League (Division One). I asked him if he went last night, with a sympathetic look on my face but inside I was anything but. He said he didn't go as it happens because they are playing cack and are going to be relegated. I was so sorry for him......not.
