Amazing last day Stokes top scored with 155, Bairstow given out when the cheating Wicketkeeper threw the stumps down after Bairstow assumed it was a dead ball! left a bad taste in the mouth, but we knew the Aussies would sell their Grannies to win

It was not cheating otherwise the umpire would have given it not out
Yes it leaves a bad taste, it’s gamesmanship it’s playing to win but not cheating, it’s the same as running someone out for backing up without warning them but that’s happened a few times as well
It’s the equivalent in my views of playing to the whistle in football or diving to win a penalty.Bairstow was at fault not understanding the actual rules of the game

In your opinion.I believe it was not in the spirit of the game, not "cricket"

That stumping goes completely against the spirit in which the game should be played. In a weird way, however, I think it might really fire up our lads to go out there and win the next test. Changes required as well in my opinion. Controversial as it might be, I'd drop Anderson and bring in Wood. I'd also give Pope a rest as he is obviously injured, move Bairstow to 3 and bring in Foakes as our keeper.

unfortuantely technically the stumping was out, he didnt hold on to it and wait for him to walk, he threw it virtually in one motion from taking the catch.

What I didnt understand was how they kept talking about how the aussies were still aggrieved by the starc catch not being given, fair enough, it was harsh but again by the letter of the law, not out, but then again they did get given a catch by Smith that was never a catch and should never have been given

Like others have said, against the spirit of Cricket, leaves a bad taste, especially after cummins was interviewed and said he didnt regret it.

Reading the comments from some ex players regarding Bairstow's dismissal the point was made that countries have different views as to the spirit of the game. That is why there are rules. If anyone remembers a series from the eighties Hold the Back Page starring David Warner as a sports journalist, he was taken to task by a younger colleague for having a romanticised 'Roy of the Rovers' view of professional sport when all that really mattered was winning and making money. I sense some of the contributors to this forum would have sympathy with the David Warner character! And have little time for Douglas Jardine.

I would also question whether Anderson and Broad are fully fit. Both got peppered with the short ball while trying not to capitulate the last four wickets, Anderson got one particularly ferocious hit under his right armpit which had to have hurt and bruised, maybe making his bowling action a bit more of a struggle.

You know it's bad news when you are trawling the internet for ticket refund information...

According to the ECB major match tickets refund scheme:

For days one to four of the Test Match: If, for the day for which the ticket is valid, play does not take place OR play is restricted, you will be entitled to a refund of only the match ticket value subject to there being: (a) zero to 15 overs played - a full refund; (b) 15.1 overs to 30 overs played - a 50% refund. In no other circumstances can money be refunded.
