Pompey Squad Numbers Announced

interesting to see the gaps in the squad numbers announced. For example no no.5 or no.11 announced, Could that indicate that the numbers are being reserved for Barnard and Whyte as first choice centre half and winger?

Also, there is no number 8 in the squad. Could this mean that there is a first choice central box-to-box or attacking midfielder still to join the squad?

There is also no player with no.3 but Oglivie is clearly first choice at left back and Vincent, Hume and Sparkes all get numbers in the 24 man squad so this is perhaps just the way it has panned out.

My reading is 11 is maybe held pending the Curtis situation being resolved
And hopefully the 8 is that maverick creative player we all hope we get
Maybe 3 is for a wingback rather than defender
5 hopefully being held for Bernard

I think players pick the numbers they want these days. Dissapointed we don't have a 69.

I wonder what number Whyte will take? Eleven maybe for a Right Winger, not sure. He`s probably got a lucky number 69 perhaps
