I remember him and the change in his physique when he went to Canada not America he married a relative of the Hart Brothers Brett and Owen who were big stars in the 90s
Unfortunately he died young as a result of a heart attack which his family blamed on the steroid usage
When ITV brought wrestling back a couple of years ago his son made appearances as the British Bulldog

Owen heart still gets a mention from time to time. They have the Owen Heart Memorial Tournament every year starting a few years back with AEW.

Linking back to football, one summer in the late 60s (68 I think) wrestling shows were put on at Newport’s old ground (Church Litten or Marks and Spencer as it is today) on Friday evening. It used to make a fun start to a night down the pub.

The illusion of violence was shattered a bit when Mick McManus, Jackie Pallo and Steve Logan all jumped into the back of a taxi back to ferry.

The Hart Foundation was set up in memory of Owen Hart who died in the ring when a planned move went terribly wrong
It may be acting but those guys must be incredibly fit and some of the things they do have a degree of real peril if not performed correctly

Owen Heart died when he was zip lining down to the ring for his entrance. Such a shame as he still had a long career ahead of him. His wife held it against WWE and forbode them from ever being able to use his likeness or footage ever again. It wasn't until AEW reached out to her with a promise to celebrate his life fully in a manner she deemed appropriate that he got featured on a wrestling promotion for the first time in 20 years.

I do have a lot of respect for the Hart Foundation. It takes a lot of heart (no pun intended) to be able to use something as tragic as your husbands death to go some good in the world. It's a great legacy to be leaving behind albeit one that shouldn't have been needed so young into someones life.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over_the_ ... t_accident
On May 23, 1999, Hart fell to his death in Kansas City, Missouri, during the Over the Edge pay-per-view event.[64] Hart was in the process of being lowered via harness and grapple line into the ring from the rafters of Kemper Arena for a booked Intercontinental Championship match against The Godfather. In keeping with the Blazer's new "buffoonish superhero" character, he was to begin a dramatic entrance, being lowered to just above ring level, at which time he would act "entangled", then release himself from the safety harness and fall flat on his face for comic effect—this necessitated the use of a quick release mechanism. It was an elaboration on a Blue Blazer stunt done previously on the Sunday Night Heat before Survivor Series in 1998.[60] While being lowered into the ring, Hart fell 78 feet (24 m), landing chest-first on the top rope (approximately a foot from the nearest turnbuckle), throwing him into the ring.[65]

Hart had performed the stunt only a few times before. Hart's widow Martha has suggested that, by moving around to get comfortable with both the harness and his cape on, Hart unintentionally triggered an early release. Television viewers did not see the incident. During the fall, a pre-taped vignette was being shown on the pay-per-view broadcast as well as on the monitors in the darkened arena. Afterward, while Hart was being worked on by medical personnel inside the ring, the live event's broadcast showed only the audience. Meanwhile, WWF television announcer Jim Ross repeatedly told those watching live on pay-per-view that what had just transpired was not a wrestling angle or storyline and that Hart was hurt badly, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.[66] Hart was transported to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. While several attempts to revive him were made, he died due to his injuries. The cause of death was later revealed to be internal bleeding from blunt force trauma. The impact severed his aorta, resulting in Hart bleeding to death just minutes later; he was 34 years old.

Yes definitely. I have a lot of respect for the Hart Foundation. There are way too many people out there who have lost their lives or had their lives severely adversely affected due to wrestling. Broken necks \ spines \ concussions etc.

Thankfully most places have taken on board the errors of the past and things are a lot more safer but accidents do still happen and careers are still cut short.

Concussion \ CTE is a big thing at the moment. Especially after the Chris Benoit incident. Many wrestlers end up retiring early now due to early stages CTE whereas in the past they'd have pushed ahead and "manned up".
