Your Team vs Peterborough (Carabao Cup)

Post by Jack_Tinn »

Darren Ferguson has announced that Peterborough are going to be make 11 changes to their league side for this game and will have a few 16yo academy players on the bench too for this game. Great opportunity for Pompey to progress in the League Cup.

Rafferty is suspended. Lowery and Yengi are out injured for a few months and Scully didn't travel with the squad to Stevenage whilst a knee injury was looked at. So that's four of Mousinho's squad gone for this game you'd think straight away.

So, what is your preferred starting xi?

I'm going to go for:

Schofield
Swanson
Ragginho
Towler
Sparkes
Stevenson
Devlin
Lane
Robertson
Kamara
Saydee

Sub: Norris, Poole, Oglivie, Morrell, Bishop, Whyte, Mottoh,
Rjk66
Alan Biley

Even with a depleted posh side, I cannot see us scoring many goals against them on present form.
Mark Hateley and Alan Biley made my favourite season.

If we want to progress I would start Norris in goal as I am not at all impressed with Schofield unless last week was just a bad day at the office for him
I would also start Mottoh on the bench as any experience we can give him could accelerate his development I thought he never looked out of place last week and appears to be a genuine prospect for our future first team squad

I'd play Bishop. I think he needs to get back into the goalscoring groove.

Sparkes a liability as a defender even though JM hasn’t realised it yet

Has he shown himself to be a liability yet? I don't recall him having a mare at left back thus far.
