Team for Cambridge

Post by jam tomorrow »

I would change the team slightly for Tuesdays match I would try Tino with Morrell and move Robertson up. If he’s recovered from illness Whyte to replace Kamara who drops to the bench. Half time replace Tino with Stevenson.

Norris
Rafferty Poole Shaughnessy Sparkes
Morrell Anjorin
Lane Robertson Whyte
Bishop

I am not sure swapping Anjorin and Robertson will change much in respect of creativity and surely Saydee should replace one or the other if needed not Stevenson which would be a negative approach if you don't use Saydee then use Devlin instead of Stevenson
I also would not start Whyte as I feel he's lacking fitness form and confidence at present if we want to rest Kamara then surely bring in Ogilvie at left back and push Sparkes up on the wing this enables him to provide service but also is a positive regarding additional defensive resource

I would not use Sparkes as a winger he’s got no pace he’s either a left back or half back. In terms of Saydee I think it’s the same situation. Whyte should be fit enough to play. In terms of Robertson I think he’s better utilised in front of goal, and Tino further back. Hey just my opinion

That's what the game is about we all have an opinion and I was like yourself expressing mine just one other point regarding Whyte playing in the left is that he's played most of his career as a right winger so playing on the left may not be ideal for a player struggling for form and confidence who from I what I've seen also seems to lack true pace

Saydee and Sparkes to start. Anjorin did a few good things on Saturday but not enough to start yet imo. Sparkes is superb at crossing and is improving overall.
Super Matt Macey in goal...

I would be inclined to rest Kamara to sit on the bench. I liked the look of Whyte the last time he played, but that was on the Right Wing whether he can be as effective on the Left Wing I am not sure. In addition I believe we come to the question whether we play both Sparkes and Ogilvie. I am glad it is Mous that has to make these decisions not me!

Pompey: Norris; Swanson, Poole, Shaughnessy, Ogilvie; Robertson, Morrell (c); Lane, Saydee, Kamara; Bishop

Don't think anybody picked that team?

Not bad though plus a good bench...1-3 (because we always go 1 down!!)

Teams currently sitting in 3rd to 10th all winning. Just us, drawing and 2nd place Oxford, currently losing, are bucking that trend at half time.
