You can take the man out of Pompey
But you can`t take Pompey out of the man

Re: January Transfer Window - Confirmed Moves.
This is certainly a different window to the summer one. Then we had most of it done within the first 10 minutes of it opening. I assumed the club had identified what we needed to make us stronger and shore up the weaknesses within the squad and signings would happen quickly but, I suppose, Robertson's injury has complicated the plans somewhat. I am hoping an experienced striker will be coming in, at least for backup to Bishop but also play alongside him. Plus shoring up the defence and now, of course, midfield. I think Lowery can play in a forward midfield position because he has the skills but he is short on match fitness. I think we need players for the here and now who can give us that extra boost rather than the ones for the future. Obviously I am not saying that we shouldn't keep an eye on the players for the future but I think players that are ready for this level now is more important.

the interview with RH he talks about the summer and winter windows being opposites. In the summer its best to get it all done early, in the winter it pays to wait, so i guess we will have to wait and see what the rest of January brings

I get that from a business point of view. From a football point of view it can mean the difference between being able to put out a top of the table 11 every week or having to rely on squad players for half a dozen games.Portchesterblue2 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 8:23 am the interview with RH he talks about the summer and winter windows being opposites. Yeah but you can't sign someone who isn't available - it's like buying a house innit.Sam_Brown wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 9:55 amI get that from a business point of view. Re: January Transfer Window - Confirmed Moves.
I suspect he is very much in as a number 2 and on very little money. Having him till the end of the season is mutually beneficial, he gets a job and to train again, and we veg s big more depth.NSRailings wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 4:10 pmSuper Matt Macey in goal...Pompey1984+1 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 2:22 pm 12th January.

Perhaps rather ironically I was typing that out in my phone while waiting for an eye test!
