Where are the January signings?
20th Jan and apart from a new backup goalie we have signed no one. I’ve always been one to suggest “trust the process” but if there was ever a time to spend money in January and get some good players in it’s this season.

Re: Where are the January signings?
I think it just shows that we feel out top targets might still become available. With the possible exception of Edmundson. Due to the injuries at Ipswich.
Looking at the players who put immediate completion have signed there isn't really anyone who stands out.
Freddie Ladapo to Charlton - yeah he's a 'name' but he's never really done it consistently other than one season. He also sulks. A lot. Never done it in the league above.
That kid Oxford have supposedly spent £400k on from Cheltenham who's injured.
Sounds like Blackett-Taylor might be going to Derby for a chunk of money. He's currently having his best season in terms of appearances in his career, bit of a risk?
Connor Coventry to Charlton, I think he's a good player, but we don't need a man of his skills.
The name that's emerged today that I find interesting is Aaron Collins at Bristol Rovers. Player of season last season, lost his way a little this season after Barton stripped him of the armband, right sort of age, right sort of profile *could* make the step up if we are promoted, most assists in league one this season too.

Blackett-Taylor would be a superb signing. Costs money though....
I'm very underwhelmed with our transfer window so far. Hope they know what they're doing, ie trying to stay in a play off position.

Off to Derby on loan presumably with an option to buy so cost nothing in the short termBetelgeuse wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 11:09 am Blackett-Taylor would be a superb signing. Costs money though....

That's not the case, he is joining on loan now for an alleged £300k. He will then join for free in the summer. This is because Derby need to work around their business plan that got them out of administration.
