Your Team for Northampton
Thankfully picking Pompey's starting xi for this Saturday's game vs Northampton is quite difficult. Pompey have new players and new formations they can choose from so there are a lot more options than before the window began.
This is a must win game really. Barnsley are playing Bolton and a win vs Northampton really puts the pressure on at least one of those teams.
I am going to assume Morrell is out injured and is completely unavailable for the game, I do think though that Rafferty is fit and that Pompey revert to their preferred 4-2-3-1 formation. I also think that Mousinho will feed his new players into the line slowly rather than starting them all tomorrow and then finding the team has lost cohesion.
I also don't believe Mousinho when he says that Lang may need some protection since he has missed a couple of games for Wigan when it was clear that he was leaving. He has to start - particularly at home - and he can be subbed off as necessary after 60-70 mins but let him get stuck into Northampton from the beginning. McIntyre and Moxon however are on the bench for me.
My team would be:
Norris
Rafferty
Raggett
Shaughnessy
Oglivie
MPH
Pack
Kamara
Lang
Lane
Bishop
subs: Macey, McIntyre, Moxon, Lowery, Saydee, Sparkes, Whyte

I think predicting the starting line-up is as difficult as predicting the score at the moment. I just hope we get a more positive and consistent performance today and onwards.
2-1 Pompey!
2-1 Pompey!
Super Matt Macey in goal...

2-0 Pompey.
Usual team, Pack and Lowery in the middle.
Lang to get 45.
Moxon to get 30 minutes depending on score

Re: Your Team for Northampton
As discussed depends on whether JM plays Lang or not but agree we should start on the front foot with him, I would have liked to see McIntyre come in earlier because our defence is missing some quality.Hopefully he will come in at the next match but we also need to defend better from the front which reduces our defensive frailties. MPH and Lane need to sort out their runs too as they were getting in each others way against Oxford.
