Tom Lowery Hamstring Injury - Grade 2c - probably out 4-6 weeks

Post by Jack_Tinn »

Mousinho has confirmed that Lowery has been scanned and has been assessed as a Grade 2c tear. He is going to see a specialist on Wednesday and Mousinho didn't want to say how long he could be out.

this article however explains the different types of hamstring injury and what a 2c tear is. https://www.pogophysio.com.au/blog/how- ... lassified/

That article suggests that an athlete can return from a grade 2c in a range of 18-35 days and that the mean time is 27 days. Lowery got injured on 13th February so this suggests that he will be out of full training until at least mid March. The good news could be though that he could play a part in games during April for the last five games of the season.

Mousinho says the club will confirm next week how long Lowery will be out once he has seen the specialist.

absolutely. Mousinho has said Ben Stevenson won't be available until end of March so we are down to two fit natural central midfielders in Pack and Moxon.

MPH can play in there too as necessary but Mousinho then said that cover beyond those three would be Shaughnessy, Oglivie and Swanson until Stevenson returns ....and then hopefully Lowery can come back into consideration too before the end of the season.

The problem of course with pushing Shaughnessy into midfield is that you then have Towler in the back four without a central defender available on the bench either ....so you end up 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' ......Moxon and Pack to hold down the fort hopefully for the next six weeks and eight games.

That's pretty bad news. Let's hope Moxon can get up to speed quickly and show why we signed him. No more injuries please!

Moxon was playing for Carlisle wasn't he? So not exactly coming in cold.

Stevenson still a few weeks away?

At what point do you call time in Lowery?

He's a very good player, but made of glass. I'd release.

Sounds a bit sexual that...

Or do you mean let him go?

I think he means: safer to pull him off at half time.
