Interesting to see what's changed and what has remained the same.
I see La la League and Word Association threads are still alive and well and
notice a number of familiar names from the past.
True story, I spent 5 months working in a bar in Amsterdam and met people
from all over the world. The only group who were miserable and suspicious
was a bunch of Pompey fans who came in. They talked to nobody..just sat
around their pints muttering. Utterly charmless. Well, that spirit appears
to have infected some on the forums. All debate is shouted down, blind allegiance
is demanded. Times change, perhaps I haven't so I'll go away.
Supporting Pompey was always a lonely experience..school away from the city then
25 years in Scotland. Thought coming back would make me feel part of things again.
Sadly, this seems not to be the case....
I miss the days when we adopted Barney Ambrose..the lonely Fulham fan...the
thoughts of Stains fans...hell...even Guided Missile and Pomp'n' circumstance!
Not a lot mind. I wish you all well, enjoy rest of season and hope next season is
a rewarding experience no matter what happens.
Just remember....good times..like the bad times rarely last long. Enjoy them but
keep a sense of perspective...and don't assume every contrary view is trolling.

Not so strange Blue in PL20.....far from strange...just disappointed.
This used to be the place for a lively debate on all matters Pompey. Now it's become the home
of strict adherence to orthodoxy.

Not so strange actually, I quite agree with him. This is the reason why I have stopped posting on here. If you post a veiw that differs from the general theme it seen as wrong and taken out of context. Most posters are fine but there is one or two with an air of arrogance and even downright childishness. It's a shame really as I used to enjoy posting on here and read the differing views and take part in sensible debate.

Not a question of being too sensitive, without disagreement there is no debate. My definition of of sensible debate is where those disagreeing do not take an opposing view out of context and exaggerate that view to fit their own agenda.

debate is debate not just stating someone is ***** and moaning at people who say they arent mate, you are moaning that people are disgreeing with you, that is the basis for debate, cant have it both ways
