Re: O/T: Christmas present for any Pompey fans

Well, it's not St. Mary's - I just had a look and he hasn't done anything for Southampton. Clearly a man of exceptional taste :D

O/T: Christmas present for any Pompey fans

...or any club really. I thought I'd give Martin at Ground Designs a little bit of free promotion. He kindly allowed me to use his artwork in the banner at the top of this forum. My son bought me the print, which proudly hangs on the wall in my living room. If any of you are stuck for a Christmas pr...

Re: Lineker

I totally agree. I never watch it "live", I just run it on iPlayer and FF through the inane chat. I think the best one I saw, was when Lineker and his sycophants all went on strike - I didn't have the inconvenience of having to FF past them :) However, if it was Jeff Stelling, I might even...

Re: Pompey Wage Bill

One problem with competing wage-wise is the number of clubs receiving parachute payments. From that table, our yearly bill is £7.2M. Leeds have the highest bill at £36.8M. However, they are receiving parachute payments of around £40M this year. So, their parachute payments cover their whole wage bil...

Holy carp - make that another shot - on target!

Re: The Budget - Thoughts?

£40bn in new taxes. I'm very disappointed. Not one mention of any provision for new players in the January transfer window. I was hoping for better, to be honest. I mean, Jim Callaghan was from Portsmouth, for goodness sake!

Re: Team for West Brom???

I guess, publically, Mous is going to have to say Saydee is doing really well. Player confidence is important, plus (at this stage at least) he's not going to bad mouth his paymasters, whatever his feelings. However, Saydee is filling in a position that isn't where he'd ideally play. I think we've s...
