Re: Well, seeing as he's arrived now...

I turn to the great Phil Collins for inspiration and "Jackett Required".

And of course when he gets sacked, "No Jackett Required".

But seriously...very pleased with this appointment. Kudos to Cook for stepping aside and letting Pompey upgrade.

Sad to hear this news. His posts will be missed. It's a shame he didn't get to see Pompey win the title this season.

Yeah you're probably right. Expecting Pompey to play at Sligo again and then hopefully somewhere in Dublin, there's a few clubs in the capital to try and arrange something with. You couldn't ask for a better city for a pre/post-match pint.

Re: Pre-season friendlies

I'm pretty sure Dublin is as exciting as anything Portugal has to offer although the nightlife is (hopefully) irrelevant to a touring professional squad. Pleased to get another chance to watch Pompey as I was too lazy to go and watch the Bohs friendly last summer even though it's only down the road ...

Talking of which, whatever happened to Ronnie Pander?
I believe he was working over in Europe, Luxemburg IIRC.
Ireland now.

And hi, SB. I still look in here for Pompey news and your post-match reports. :)

Re: Back from the Hartlepool game

I remember hearing Bally's speech on radio solent, I was on tea break @ work. FFS he had me welling up. Bally may not have been our best manager IMO, but as a bloke he was inspirational. I miss Alan Ball, they dont make them like that anymore. I'd say taking both his spells into account he's probab...

Loving the replies, most of them predictable unimaginative rubbish as becomes the standard of this board currently but there is one that breaks the mould. Your witterings get the response they deserve. Plus I've never seen even a remotely articulate post from yourself. Maybe you should look a littl...

Re: World Cup Seedings

Thus Italy didn't make it because they simply have not been as good as they might have been over 4 years. I guess getting to the Euro final only last year doesn't cut the mustard with FIFA. And I don't think Belgium are a "dark horse" as they're now becoming so over hyped. Expect the pres...

Re: World Cup Seedings

:rofl at France. oh, how times have changed. But look where Brazil are too. France are still a dangerous team and if say England had slipped into the play-offs I most certainly wouldn't have backed them against the French. The rankings are ****** but people are potentially making a bigger issue tha...

Re: Fair Point

It's often cheaper to take the kids out during term time and get the fine than it is to pay the inflated prices during the holidays . That'll teach the kids the value of education. They spent the whole of last term learning about Egyptians . I'm sure this will be if great value to them in later lif...
